Exercise Physiology is suitable for anyone who has a sustained injury or medical condition that can be improved with exercise treatment or management.
Exercise Physiologists are qualified to prescribe exercise for health, rehabilitation and fitness.The skills and knowledge of an Exercise Physiologist are developed over five years of university education which enables them to treat proficiently in a variety of settings. This includes land-based exercise and through education via individualised health counselling and facilitated group programs.
Exercise Physiologists can also work with healthy individuals to assist them in optimising their health and fitness goals, leading to improved function and ability to complete activities of daily living.
Do I need a referral?
You don’t need a referral unless you're being treated by one of our Exercise Physiologists through a compensable scheme; you may pay for your session as a private client or claim through your Private Health Insurance.
You can drop of a hard copy of your referral to Reception or your GP can send your referral to rjin@belgravialeisure.com.au.

It can be disheartening when you're struggling to get help with medical conditions or injuries. If you're ill and don't have access to care, our team of health professionals will assist you during your recovery.

Meet Roger
Roger graduated from the University of New South Wales in 2017 with a Bachelor of Exercise Physiology. He is a member of Exercise and Sport Science Australia (ESSA) with an established interest in prescribing exercises in the management of various chronic diseases. As a qualified Workcover NSW Service Provider, Roger continually applies a multidisciplinary approach to musculoskeletal rehabilitation, chronic disease management and clients dealing with chronic pain.

Services we offer - Please read prior to visiting us
Individual appointments (1:1)
Initial Appointment - up to 60 minutes:
- Please arrive 5-10 minutes prior to your appointment.
- Report to reception at the Exercise Physiology Desk and they will direct you to our waiting area and for you to fill out our Patient Registration Form including: Privacy, Consent and Cancellation Policy.
- This is ESSENTIAL to the smooth operations of our centre. If you have any concerns regarding filling out our paperwork, please notify us in advance.
- Your Exercise Physiologist will go through a series of questions to get to know you and the reason for your visit. You will discuss information such as medical history and your goals (it will be handy to bring a list of your current medications)
- Please wear comfortable clothing, runners/sneakers are HIGHLY recommended, as you will also be asked to complete a range of Exercise Testing.
- You may also be going through some exercises on the day in association with your treatment plan (time permitting).
Review/Follow Up Appointments - 30-60 minutes
- When you have an appointment with one of our Exercise Physiologists, you MUST report your attendance to reception at the Exercise Physiology Desk. This is important for your health and safety so our Exercise Physiologists are aware of your presence and can locate you. If you are unsure where to meet your EP, you are welcome to wait in our waiting area, or tell reception where you will be.
- These 1:1 sessions are designed to go through your treatment plan supervised and adjust your exercises as neccessary including a current independent/group/home exercise program
- If you are running late to your appointment, we appreciate you letting us know in advance. This however may affect the quality and duration of your session. Our Team do our very best to stay on schedule to avoid any disruptions and delays.
Group Exercise Physiology sessions (60mins):
- Gym/EP Hour
- Semi-supervised by our Exercise Physiologists completing your individualised exercise program semi-independently
- You must have completed an Initial Consultation prior to joining the group sessions
Please note that there is a fee associated with this service. If there are any concerns with your appointment/s' billing under a scheme, please let us know.
This service is not associated with a gym membership at our facility. With regards to membership options/casual visits, please see the reception team for more information about what we offer.

There will be a gap payment for all initial appointments.

*please note that all information on the referral form is correct: patient details including Medicare Number (with IRN) and a contact number (we are unable to get in contact with your patient/client if there is no contact number on the referral). Please ensure that EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGY is allocated sessions and NOT Physiotherapy or any other Allied Health Practitioner. If there are details which are incorrect we may have to send your patient/client back to you to retrieve an updated copy of the referral.
